ISB MFAB Application Deadlines:

R2 Deadline: March 27, 2022

Essay 1: Why do you intend to pursue ISB PGP MFAB program? (500 words)

This is basically the old classical Statement of purpose. Through this essay, you need to tell the Admissions Committee the details of your family business, your entire journey in the business, and your career in the business so far.

Most importanly, you need to make a case for why you think that pursuing the Family business program (MFAB) at ISB is going to benefit you, while you take your Family business forward. In other words, what is of specific importance in this essay is to highlight why you think that the Family business program offered by ISB would be of specific relevance to your business. In this regard, you should highlight the specific courses offered at MFAB, the experiential opportunities, and of course, the immense networking opportunities with other attendees of this program.

Essay 2: Describe an important initiative that your business has undertaken during the past 5 years. Explain why you consider it important. You may share an initiative taken by your company even if you were not necessarily involved or associated with it. (500 words)

The title of this essay is quite self-explanatory; basically what you should highlight, is an initiative that your business undertook. An initiative is an act that is a diversion from the traditional way the business had always been run. Preference should be given to an initiative that resulted in business growth of the company and your writeup should also go into the factors that led to the undertaking of that initiative.

As the essay clearly mentions, this need not necessarily be an initiative in which you were directly involved; an initiative that you are aware of and you appreciate, would also do.

Essay 3: According to you, what are the main challenges faced by your business and how would you address them? (500 words)

This essay basically tests your knowledge of your business, from a Strategic perspective. Primarily, you need to analyse the current competitive scenario around your business. We suggest the application of "SWOT analysis" (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats) to your business so that it provides you a structured framework to enumerate the challenges faced in your business.

Thereafter, you should obviously demonstrate a plan of how to address those specific challenges that your business faces.
